Out of the box VideoStudio does not have a HEVC codec built into it. My computer specs are contained in my Profile on the right hand side of this Board.Īs for HEVC, I don't know if Resolve comes with its own version of the HEVC codec, nor whether than Resolve codec would also work in VideoStudio. I have to add that it's not a format that I usually use, so I can't really help you further with that. I even produced a 4K clip which plays smoothly in VS2023 and other programs. Using the AV1 codec which came as part of VS2023, I have no difficulty rendering a video to AV1 format. Used Corel Clean up tool to reinstall VS2023 I used DDU to reinstall AMD Adrenalin 23.12.1 which fixed an important problem (h264 high profile wasn't working). I have NVMe SSD (WD-BLACK SN850X 4th Gen) K-lite Mega codec latest version Installed with MPC player. How can you help me to fix it if there is a fix or it's just a common problem with all? H264 with high bitrate (150k) then I import it into Handbrake to re-encode it but with H.265 (between 50k - 70k bitrate). Now, I render my Videos in Corel but using this method: Glad it wasn't $1 because I would sell my house and be homeless. I thought that buying it will solve the problem. I bought AV1 Codec from MS Store ($0.99) also I have the free version 圆4. I don't have any crash or problem with VS2023 except the rendering of codecs I mentioned. I tried to look here for a topic but didn't find anything. Rendering H.265 HEVC video by DaVinci Resolve is just fine and works perfectly in every device and player. GoPro 11 (10-bit decoding is not supported in Corel as you know) so I used 8-bit video. Xiaomi Box S 4K (2nd Gen) it support AV1 completely. TCL 65C835 with latest update, AV1 is working just fine if I render a video from (H.264) using Handbrake only. DaVinci Resolve 18 (free version 8-bit) Software I used to re-encode Corel rendered files: Playing it in all players is the same thing except (VLC on PC).ģ- Used same as Project setting and Proxy but same results as above. re-encoding it using any other app will not fix it. re-encode the file is impossible and freeze any app that I used.Ģ- Rendering H.265 (HEVC) works fine but the video file is choppy as it is a(10 fps) video despite that it's 59.98 fps. I'll try to be brief: (before you ask, yes I contacted Corel Support and while writing this post, they replied to my ticket)ġ- Rendering AV1 using VS2023 looks fine but playing that file in any player is not possible. Thanks for watching.I'm writing this because I need you opinions. But as far as getting that free HEVC codec for Windows 10, that’s how it’s done. If you like my video style, you may want to subscribe to be notified of more good stuff as it comes out. If you did, be sure to thumbs me up and comment. Don’t be fooled by more attempts from Microsoft to get you to sign in or create an account you don’t need to do any of that. You don’t need to sign-in with Microsoft unless you want to I don’t want to so I’m clicking “No thanks.” And finally you can click “Install”. Once Microsoft’s done bouncing you around a little bit, you’ll end up at this page that says “HEVC Video Extensions from Device Manufacturer.” That’s the one you want. Otherwise just click ‘Get’ and click “Open Microsoft Store”. Here you can check the system requirements if you’re curious. You don’t need to sign up for anything if you’re already signed up that’s okay too. Once you click my link, it’ll send you to the Microsoft Store website. What you can do is just hit this redirection link on my website (I’ll provide it in the description for the video and in the companion blog post). Basically, Microsoft wants to sell you the software codec, but if you have a video board that supports HEVC, you don’t need it. If you go to open a video file and get this message, this video is for you. Welcome to the Grok Shop! Super quick video here on how to get that free HEVC codec for Windows 10. Note: most peeps will want the “圆4” one, so try that one if you are not sure which one you need. However, it appears they are still available if you know where to look… Unfortunately, it appears that MS no longer publishes this information on their site or through their “app store” app. If you want to play HEVC or h.265 videos in Windows 10, and you have a video board with a built-in HEVC codec, you can download this free “app” (hevc video extensions from device manufacturer ) from the Microsoft store which will use you video boards built-in HW codec. The URL download link to get the Free Windows 10 HEVC Codec is shown and the installation is demonstrated.
